ENVE Fray vs. Melee vs. Mog
With the ability to use up to 40mm tires, the ENVE Fray will perform well on mixed surfaces, but the bike is designed for the road and its geometry delivers accordingly.
Race gravel bikes usually have a looser geometry, more tire clearance, or even compatibility for a dropper post. It seems like the Fray is between the Enve Melee and the Enve Mog and the simple answer would be "YES", but no, the Enve Fray is much closer to the Enve Melee than to the Enve Mog.
If you're looking for a gravel bike and usually want to use 40mm tires, check out the ENVE Mog.
Melee: Road Race
Fray: Endurance All Road
Mog: Gravel Race Adventure
Geometry of the ENVE Fray
The geometry of the Enve Fray is made for road cycling, but the frame offers the ability to fit up to 40mm tires. It is not too steep, but certainly not too slack. The Fray delivers a dynamic and confident feel. Pure performance for the long and rough road.
Enve does something special. They not only adjust their geometry according to frame size, but they even have four different fork designs with four different fork rakes, ensuring that the rider gets the intended experience, regardless of their height and frame size.
